Congratulations to Professor Wong Poh Kam, Professor of Strategy & Policy, and Director of the NUS Entrepreneurship Centre, on winning the World Entrepreneurship Forum’s (WEnF) Entrepreneur for the World Award (Educator Category).
The award is conferred on exceptional entrepreneurs annually for their impact on society and their capacity to change the world. He is among only five recipients this year, and the only one in the Educator category.
Prof Wong is the first faculty member from a Singaporean university to receive this accolade. He joins a prestigious list of past winners who include Richard Branson, founder of The Virgin Group; Liu Chuan-Zi, founder of Lenovo, China; William Drayton, founder of Ashoka, USA; and Mo Ibrahim, founder of Celtel & The Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Sudan / UK.

Besides being a leading academic scholar on entrepreneurship and innovation in Asia, with his publications receiving among the highest citations on Web of Science and Google Scholars, Prof Wong has also pioneered several widely regarded entrepreneurship education programmes and played a significant role in building a vibrant entrepreneurship support ecosystem at NUS and in Singapore.
