SAP and NUS Partner to Help Transform Enterprises in a Digital Economy

SAP and NUS signed an agreement today to help enterprises and students become better positioned in today’s digital economy. Both the entities will take part in joint activities to support the further understanding of information processes and their applications to transform enterprises. This new agreement builds on existing collaborations initiated several years ago, on Enterprise Resource Planning technologies and applications.


Under the three-year agreement, SAP and NUS will deepen the understanding of business process management and the interconnection with data analytics through graduate and undergraduate programmes. NUS students will gain access to a cloud-based SAP HANA system, a computing platform for applications and analytics. In addition, both institutions will publish case studies across different lines-of-business, starting with the first one on the transformation of the finance organisation at SAP Asia Pacific Japan (APJ), where SAP HANA has been proven as a key enabler for innovation and productivity.


SAP will also work with select students from NUS Business Analytics Programme on capstone projects. One such project is to optimise SAP’s order-to-cash process in the APJ region, where students will study SAP’s business processes and systems and provide business insights using SAP Analytics tools.

This transformation will deliver the next level of productivity and innovation in organisations in the coming decade”, said Professor Bernard Yeung, Dean and Stephen Riady Distinguished Professor, NUS Business School.


“In the last five years, technology innovations, digitalization, and market volatility have driven dramatic changes to enterprises, especially in the finance function. Automation and process innovation will provide significant value-add to enterprises and will remain a key focus area in the coming years. This collaboration with NUS will help students and businesses better prepare for the digital economy,” said Colin Sampson, Senior Vice President and SAP Ambassador, SAP APJ.
