Making a difference beyond just Flag Day

As part of Academic Year 16/17, the NUS Business School Flag Committee partnered Metta Welfare Association, a charity focused on caring for the intellectually disabled community. In the past seven months the Flag Committee organised multiple events, like the Chinese New Year Dinner, Grant-A-Wish Project, Batik Painting Session, Farm Hopping Experience, Hari Raya Celebration and Picnic Session at Marina Barrage with Metta.

Here, the Flag Committee shares their experience in organising these activities, as well as raising funds for the beneficiary.

Top 5 tips to improve your presentation skills

Leading up to Connexions, a NUS MBA flagship event organised by Career Services Office, MBA students are invited to participate in elevator pitch challenges specific to Consulting, Banking and Finance, Tech and General industries.

Each session, a panel of judges consisting three to four industry partners will assess up to 30 students who are pursuing careers in that particular industry. Students have one minute to impress the judges and the top three winners of each category will present at Connexions.

Mr Ajay Sunder, Vice President for Digital Transformation, APAC from Frost & Sullivan, who was part of this session’s judging panel, shares his thoughts on the recent Consulting elevator pitch event. This session saw Stephanie Kopas, Zhou Jiazhen Vera and Fang Yu emerge as winners.

Taking home first prize at the inaugural NUS-SP Case Competition National segment

The inaugural NUS-SP Group Case Competition concluded 8 September, with NUS Business School undergraduates clinching the champion trophy for the National segment, and Queen’s University coming in first for the International segment.

Congratulations to our Team Singapore SEA Games athletes

Team Singapore athletes brought home a remarkable 188 medals at the 29th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After two weeks of intense competition, the Games came to a close on 30 August. Contributing to this impressive feat were NUS students and alumni who did the nation and University proud with their fighting spirit and sportsmanship. A special shout out to our NUS Business School students who were part of this contingent.

Connecting for future opportunities

Organised by the Career Services Office, the annual Relazione career networking event aims to connect graduating undergraduates with international and local organisations for career opportunities. This year’s edition was held on 23 August and was attended by about 250 students. More than 45 companies were at the event including Apple, Lazada, Unilever and Singtel.
