Awarded for excellence in adult education

Professor Christopher Chia has been appointed Adult Education Fellow (AEF) by SkillsFuture Singapore, its highest award for professionals who set the benchmark for quality and excellence in adult education.

Professor Chia was among five individuals that made up the first ever recipients of the AEF award which was presented at a ceremony officiated by Senior Minister of State for Education and Communications and Information, Dr Janil Puthucheary at the Institute for Adult Learning.

Leadership Dialogue Series with Professor Robert C. Merton

The Leadership Dialogue Series (LDS) is a platform for senior industry figures share their perspectives and experiences with students as part of their holistic learning experience. For this edition, we invited Nobel laureate Professor Robert C. Merton, a Distinguished Professor of Finance at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University.

At this session, he discussed topics on the impact technology and financial innovation have on the economy. According to him, while a well-functioning financial system is essential to achieve sustainable economic growth and development, innovation is key to foster growth and improvements in the financial system.

CGIO Masterclass Series Family Business Forum

More than 50 business leaders from the region including Malaysia and Indonesia attended a Masterclass Series on Family Business in a forum organised by the Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations (CGIO) of NUS Business School on Friday, 20 October 2017.

The lectures were delivered by four of NUS Business School’s faculty members: Senior Research Fellow Alex Capri, Professor Chung Chi Nien, Associate Professor Lan Luh Luh, Professor David Mitchell Reeb. The forum concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Associate Professor Lawrence Loh.
