The MBA students of Team Suptech took home the second runners-up accolade at the Supply Chain Asia Hackathon, one of the key events of the Supply Chain Week 2017 organised by Supply Chain Asia.

Held on 19 and 20 September, the theme of the Hackathon was “How can innovation drive logistics businesses in 2017 and beyond?” The finalists would have the opportunity to commercialise their solutions and even secure job opportunities.

The students came up with the concept of a warehouse picking vehicle that is just able to follow the picker as he pulls inventory from shelves, but also recommend the optimal route across the facility to ensure an efficient experience.

Joel, who has experience working in the supply chain industry, helped to identify the various pain points faced in the warehouse, while Anjan and Rahul researched on the available technologies and incorporate them into a cost-effective model. The judges were impressed by the practicality of their concept saying “our idea has legs”, according to Rahul.

Congratulations Team Suptech!
