Have you ever been inducted to any ‘Hall of Fame’? Imagine the thrill when it’s the hall of fame of one of the world’s most coveted standardised global online exams for college and university students.
Our students just achieved this extraordinary feat. NUS students, Jiaming Chen, Nilendra Weerasinghe and William Santosa Lim have made it to the Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT) Asia Pacific Hall of Fame, for the month of October. Jiaming Chen is also the among the world’s top three test takers of BAT.
Organised by Bloomberg Institute, the educational division of Bloomberg LP, Bloomberg Aptitude test is an online exam developed in collaboration with world-leading financial professionals, recruiters, and academics. It is a comprehensive and objective test covering a range of performance areas including analytical reasoning, global markets, math, economics, news analysis, and other relevant topics. The test is designed for undergraduates and recent graduates who are interested in a full-time or internship position in finance.
The BAT measures a student’s aptitude in various aspects of finance and business as well as career skills relevant to any industry. Over 100,000 students worldwide have already taken the BAT and 1 in 5 students who have taken the BAT in Singapore have been contacted by employers!
Jiaming Chen completed his Master of Science in Financial Engineering from NUS in 2010. A hard core financial professional, he has studied derivatives, portfolio management, and behavioural finance and has worked with companies like Barclays, Quadrant Capital, and OLAM International, most recently.
William Santosa Lim is a third year BBA student at NUS Business School. In addition to his trilingual skills and multicultural, global exposure, William has worked with leading companies like GE Capital, Bank of America and Resorts World Sentosa. He scored top 99th percentile in the BAT.
Nilendra Weerasinghe is a chartered financial analyst and first year student of NUS MBA. He has over 3 years experience in handling equity capital market transactions and mergers and acquisitions and has worked for a leading investment bank in Sri Lanka. He is currently working at NDB Investment bank.
