Some180 staff and faculty members came together on 3 March to usher in the Lunar New Year with a Lo Hei Lunch and Lion Dance, following the School’s first Town Hall meeting of the year.
Dean Bernard Yeung, Vice-Dean Susanna Leong and Associate Dean Tay Kuan Ming, along with several other speakers, updated the community about new initiatives, including the 50th anniversary celebrations planned for the year.
“Since 1965, NUS Business School has grown in parallel with Singapore’s own development. This anniversary is an opportune time to cement the theme: Past, present and future – Leading from Asia,” said the Dean. The celebrations will focus on recognising the School’s contributions, connecting with the community and highlighting our impact for the future.
The celebrations, which started with the Eminent Alumni Awards in November 2014, include alumni homecomings, international symposiums, talks, charity events, staff and faculty celebrations planned throughout the year. The party will culminate with the 50th Gala Dinner and Leadership Forum on October 28, 2015.
In addition, new staff and faculty members were welcomed into the community. On the awards front, Dean paid tribute to outstanding educators, as well as those who have served the School for between 10 and 35 years.
Capping off the Town Hall was a Lo Hei Lunch and Lion Dance to usher in the Lunar New Year in the main atrium of Mochtar Riady Building (MRB).
We would like to wish you all good health and prosperity in the Year of the Goat.
