Organised by the NUS Business School, in-conjunction with The Tata Group, the 10th edition of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz Singapore saw a total of 164 participants (82 teams) participating.
Two teams (Ryan and Dylan, and Tianming and Yu See) from NUS Business School, who made it into the highly competitive top final eight-team stage, share their exciting experience. The preliminary round saw 20 questions across various topics addressed to all participants. This was followed by a short wild card round amongst teams ranked 7 to 14 based on the scores. Out of which 2 teams joined the 6 top scoring teams to make an eight-team stage final where they were further tested with five rounds of live, rapid-fire quizzing.
Energy was high and the air abuzz with the sound of merriment as Business School alumni gathered at the Faber Peak Ballroom on 10 February 2017 for the Alumni Appreciation and Lo-Hei Dinner . This is one special occasion in the year that the NUS Business School Global Alumni Network Office (GANO) looks forward to, when the School come together to show gratitude to the alumni for giving the most precious thing– their time and talent, as well as, celebrate the journey together over the past year.
Recently named by Female Magazine as one of Singapore’s rising star photographers, you’d be surprised to find out Walter Tan (BBA Year 2) only “officially” launched his photography career last April.
What started out as a hobby since secondary school, Walter now counts Nathan Hartono, Jamie Pang, Elaine Jasmine, Mongabong as some of his collaborators. He’s also worked with brands such as Fossil, L’Oréal, Coen Anders, Sketchers, Garnier, just to name a few. The CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge 2016 saw our undergraduates – Team Fujok, emerge as overall 2nd Runner Up in the regional Grand Finale held at the Singapore Exchange on 9 January 2017.

Led by team captain Devin Nathanael (BBA Year 1), Team Fujok consists of Gideon Wong (BAC Year 1), Sagar Nilesh Shah (BBA Year 1) and Ryan Timothy Phua (Life Sciences Year 2), they beat some 300 teams at the Singapore Finals last October to become National Champions. They further clinched honours for having the Best Strategy Paper Award at the national level which qualified them for a spot at the regional Grand Finale against teams from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
The annual NUS Bizad Charity Run 2017 has raised more than $140,000 for financially disadvantaged NUS Business School undergraduates and the Autism Resource Centre (ARC), a not-for-profit charity.
Organised by the NUS Business School Alumni Association (NUSBSA) and NUS Bizad Club, this year’s event attracted more than 1,400 participants. The event was graced by Mr Lim Biow Chuan, Member of Parliament for Mountbatten SMC and Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

NUS Business School students and alumni participate various international and local case competitions and hackathons. These events give them the opportunity to apply the knowledge they acquired in school and solve real-world business challenges.
Team charts new growth strategies for China Mobile
Team oG Capital clinched the top spot at the Asia Investment Banking Conference HSBC M&A Case Study Competition. Led by Chris Chng (BBA Year 3), the team consists of Andy Soh (BBA Year 3 and Engineering Year 4), Szeto Kah Keong (BBA Year 2) and Goh Chong Wei (Engineering Year 2).
This year, some 60 teams were challenged to identify the UK firms that China Mobile can acquire to expand its business. oG Capital impressed the judges with its realistic valuation assumptions and clarity in transaction reasoning.

A small delegation of 10 undergraduate students from an accounting theory class recently went on an expedition to Pekanbaru, Indonesia to learn more about the environmental and social impact of haze in the region.
Aimed at integrating theory with practice, the trip took a macro-view on environmental accountability and corporate social responsibility. Led by Professor Oliver Li, the students got a chance to blend classroom knowledge with real, business context and learn more about the environmental issue by visiting real business operations in plantations and potential ‘hotspots’.

Congratulations to our undergraduates who emerged champions in the national category of this year’s United Overseas Bank-National University of Singapore (UOB-NUS) Case Competition after impressing an independent panel of experts in several grueling rounds.
Organised by NUS Business School’s undergraduates at the NUS Case Consulting Group, the annual event held from 22 August to 2 September 2016 comprised of National and International categories that run in parallel, with a total of 213 teams participate from around the world.
Team Tako, consisting of NUS Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students Chuk Kam Ying Jimmy, Zhang Liting, Li Qing and Khoo Jing Quan finished ahead of some 600 participants from universities across Singapore.
