Students who are in the BBA (Accountancy) programme are required to complete a mandatory minimum eight weeks of accounting or finance related internship.
This compulsory internship ensures that students are exposed to the accounting industry, enabling them to have a head start in their careers when they graduate. The students gain the experience of coping with a corporate environment that is different from the classroom.

Student Exchange Programme (SEP) is designed to add an international flavour to the academic experience for BBA and MBA students.Each year some 400 students would travel to some 120 universities, spending a semester abroad taking modules in their second or third year.
Students gain valuable international exposure when studying and living in a foreign country, enriching their academic life and enhancing their personal development.

At NUS Business School, learning takes place inside and outside of the classroom. A group of year one BBA marketing undergraduates went for a behind-the-scenes tour at Unilever. The students caught a glimpse of how classroom theories are being implemented in businesses. They also get to hear from their Bizad senior, Minh Nguyen, on his personal experiences from what’s it like working in such FMCG organisations.

Organised by the NUS Business School, in-conjunction with The Tata Group, the 10th edition of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz Singapore saw a total of 164 participants (82 teams) participating.
Two teams (Ryan and Dylan, and Tianming and Yu See) from NUS Business School, who made it into the highly competitive top final eight-team stage, share their exciting experience. The preliminary round saw 20 questions across various topics addressed to all participants. This was followed by a short wild card round amongst teams ranked 7 to 14 based on the scores. Out of which 2 teams joined the 6 top scoring teams to make an eight-team stage final where they were further tested with five rounds of live, rapid-fire quizzing.
Recently named by Female Magazine as one of Singapore’s rising star photographers, you’d be surprised to find out Walter Tan (BBA Year 2) only “officially” launched his photography career last April.
What started out as a hobby since secondary school, Walter now counts Nathan Hartono, Jamie Pang, Elaine Jasmine, Mongabong as some of his collaborators. He’s also worked with brands such as Fossil, L’Oréal, Coen Anders, Sketchers, Garnier, just to name a few. The CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge 2016 saw our undergraduates – Team Fujok, emerge as overall 2nd Runner Up in the regional Grand Finale held at the Singapore Exchange on 9 January 2017.

Led by team captain Devin Nathanael (BBA Year 1), Team Fujok consists of Gideon Wong (BAC Year 1), Sagar Nilesh Shah (BBA Year 1) and Ryan Timothy Phua (Life Sciences Year 2), they beat some 300 teams at the Singapore Finals last October to become National Champions. They further clinched honours for having the Best Strategy Paper Award at the national level which qualified them for a spot at the regional Grand Finale against teams from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
A recent survey by BNP Paribas on Global Entrepreneurs revealed that the millennial generation – those born between 1980 and 1995 – are creating more companies in traditional sectors and the new economy. On average, they launch about 8 companies throughout their careers, compared to 3.5 by the older generation. This sudden and strong emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs under 35 have been dubbed “The Millennipreneurs.”
One of our very own – NUS BBA (Honours) alumnus Jian Liang Low – is a true blue “Millennipreneur”. Since the age of 5, he has been pursuing his passion for entrepreneurship and in his quest, travelled the world breathing in different cultures and personalities. By the age of 19, he has interned in start-ups, founded a few of his own, worked in a venture capital firm, spoke at international conferences and won international competitions – his experiences span across USA, Israel, China and Asia. Perhaps this is why his latest venture Trabble, a personalised, chat-based Concierge service, caters to global travellers who are looking for quick and efficient travel services.

She walks through the busy corridors of Mochtar Riady Building with a renewed exuberance, sometimes to many surprised and curious looks, or other times to words of encouragement and support. There’s a spring in her step due to the lightness – not from a clean-shaven head but from the joy in her heart.
There is a need for a special Orientation for student with special needs (SSNs) for various reasons. I bet few of us students have considered that some SSNs cannot participate fully in the general Orientation activities. For example, students with limited mobility will find the hilly NUS campus inaccessible on wheelchair, or cannot join in the running or contact games. Students with visual or hearing impairment may lack peer support and guidance in camps. Students with autism may be unaccustomed to the intense socialising that freshmen camps require. Yet at the end of the day they are still students like you and me. They might even have undergone greater challenges to matriculate into NUS, and are really worthy of respect and awe. These SSNs are freshmen deserving of a proper orientation and senior guidance.
Now in its second year, the campus-wide Orientation programme for SSNs initiated by the Enablers is possibly the first of its kind among tertiary institutions in Singapore.
When you first meet Grace Chow (BBA Class of 2015), she strikes you as an unassuming twenty-something girl next door. She has 57,000 Instagram followers and lists among her clients Chanel, Christian Dior and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Her client list, which reads like the who’s who in the fashion industry, are enamoured with her designs that incorporate real flower petals to create works of art. They engage her to illustrate for their products as well as to perform live drawing and art-making at events and exhibitions.
She has always liked drawing. Although she had never had professional lessons as her parents did not think drawing would bring a steady income, she doodled. She started posting her drawings and fashion illustrations on her Instagram account. The initial reach was not high. Then one night as she sat drawing, she noticed that a rose a boy had given her was withering.
