Congratulations to our Team Singapore SEA Games athletes

Team Singapore athletes brought home a remarkable 188 medals at the 29th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After two weeks of intense competition, the Games came to a close on 30 August. Contributing to this impressive feat were NUS students and alumni who did the nation and University proud with their fighting spirit and sportsmanship. A special shout out to our NUS Business School students who were part of this contingent.

Connecting for future opportunities

Organised by the Career Services Office, the annual Relazione career networking event aims to connect graduating undergraduates with international and local organisations for career opportunities. This year’s edition was held on 23 August and was attended by about 250 students. More than 45 companies were at the event including Apple, Lazada, Unilever and Singtel.

Biz School at Kent Ridge Alumni Family Day

Some 100 NUS Business School alumni and their families joined the Kent Ridge Alumni Family Day on 19 August at Utown. The event is NUS’ annual homecoming to welcome alumni, students, staff and their families to the NUS campus.

Family Day had programmes such as stage performances by alumni performers, a self-defence demonstration, sports activities, music workshops, drone and racing car simulators, an art exhibition and an outdoor movie screening of animated film Trolls.

A masterclass on embracing sustainability for companies

The 4th Influential Women in Banking & Investments Forum was held at Pan Pacific Singapore on 16 February.

Some 60 faculty, students, staff and industry experts attended the panel discussion organised by the Centre for Asset Management Research & Investments (CAMRI). The theme of the event was “The Golden Touch: Gender Diversity and Firm Performance”.

Nothing trivial about quizzes

Organised by the NUS Business School, in-conjunction with The Tata Group, the 10th edition of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz Singapore saw a total of 164 participants (82 teams) participating.

Two teams (Ryan and Dylan, and Tianming and Yu See) from NUS Business School, who made it into the highly competitive top final eight-team stage, share their exciting experience. The preliminary round saw 20 questions across various topics addressed to all participants. This was followed by a short wild card round amongst teams ranked 7 to 14 based on the scores. Out of which 2 teams joined the 6 top scoring teams to make an eight-team stage final where they were further tested with five rounds of live, rapid-fire quizzing.
